Reliance Jio has announced March 31 as the deadline for Prime subscription. You have to pay Rs 99 while signing up for the membership and further opt for a plan along with it. The company is offering several great plans under the offer including the Rs 303 plan, where you can continue using your Jio SIM like the way you do now with free calls, free SMS and 28GB 4G data per month.
But the world of Jio does not end here. Many users believe that if they do not take the Prime membership, their Jio SIM may get deactivated. But this isn’t true. You can use your Jio SIM without the Prime membership also. There are several other recharge options offered by Jio for its non-Prime members. Here is what you get if you are not a Prime member:
Rs 19 plan: This is the cheapest recharge offered by Jio and comes with a one-day validity. You get unlimited free voice calling, SMSes and 100MB 4G data in oppose to the 200MB data offered to Prime members.
Rs 49 plan: You get unlimited free voice calling, SMSes and 300MB 4G data for three days. Prime members get 600 MB 4G data under the same recharge.
Rs 96 plan: This is a seven-day pack with free voice callings, SMSes and 0.6GB 4G data. Prime members get 7GB data with FUP 1GB per day on the same recharge.
Rs 149 plan: You get unlimited free voice calling, SMSes and 1GB 4G data with this recharge. It has a validity of 28 days. Prime members, with the same recharge get 2GB 4G data.
Rs 303 plan: The non-Prime members subscribing to this offer get free voice calling and SMSes but with only 2.5GB data. The plan is valid for 28 days.
Rs 499 plan: User gets unlimited free voice calling, SMSes and 5GB 4G data with this plan. It is valid for 28 days. Prime members get 56GB with FUP of 2GB a day under the same plan.
Rs 999 plan: Under this plan, the non-prime members can enjoy unlimited free voice calling, SMSes and 12.5GB 4G data for a month. The same plan gives 60GB 4G data to Prime members and the validity is for 60 days.
Rs 1999 plan: You get unlimited free voice calling, SMSes and 30 GB 4G data for a month with this recharge. If you are a Prime members then you get 125GB 4G data along with a pack validity of 90 days for the same recharge.
Rs 4999 plan: There’s unlimited free voice calling, SMSes and 100GB 4G data for a month under this pan. Prime members will get 350GB 4G data with a validity of 180 days with the same recharge.
Rs 9999 plan: Under this plan you get unlimited free voice calling, SMSes and 200GB 4G data for a month. Prime members will get 750GB 4G data with a pack validity of 360 days with the same recharge amount.
Please note that once the 4G data quota is over, the data will continue to work but a lower speed of 128kbps. Also these pre-paid plans and post-paid users can avail only three plans: Rs 303, Rs 499 and Rs 999.
Conclusion: Nothing comes free in this world. Now when Jio is no more going to be a free affair, it is better to go for Prime membership as it offer almost double or triple the amount of 4G data offered to non-Prime members. Also, Prime plans have a longer validity than the non-Prime ones. But then do so only if you find the Jio service good enough because if in your area Jio service is poor then there is no point continuing with the service whether you are a Prime member or not.
