WeLoop has introduced a new smartwatch on Xiaomi’s crowdfunded platform, MIJIA. Called the Hey S3, the smartwatch seems to have the design inspired by the Apple Watch with a similar look and feel. The device is priced at $78, which roughly translates to Rs 5,100. As of now, the smartwatch is available in China and it is highly unlikely it will be rolled out in other markets.
As said earlier, the WeLoop Hey S3 is strikingly similar to the Apple Watch. The smartwatch comes with a square a 1.28-inch touchscreen display with resolution 176×176 pixels. The display is protected with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. The WeLoop Hey S3 weighs 38 grams and comes with 46.21 x 35.66 x 11.15mm in dimensions. Along with keeping a tab on your daily activities, the watch also shows stats on your heart rate, distance traveled and quality of sleep.
The watch face can be customized with various themes and displays time, date, and temperature. The Hey S3 can will also be available for further customization with colorful silicone straps. Apart from this, the smartwatch comes with sensors such as an accelerometer, electronic compass, and gyroscope as well as a built-in heart sensor.
The Hey S3 counts steps, track travel distance, and heart rate, in addition to providing the physical training analysis. The WeLoop Hey S3 looks like it is targeting the fitness audience, with support for GPS and GLONASS binary positioning. Swimmers can also use it for training, as the watch can handle being put in up to 50 meters of water.
It comes with Bluetooth 4.2-enabled adapter that allows the new smartwatch to connect to a smartphone and passage notifications for call control, music, and texts. The smartwatch is also waterproof up to 50 meters. The smartwatch is claimed to deliver up to 30 days of backup on normal use on a single charge. The Hey S3 doesn’t run Android Wear 2.0 but a propriety operating system.
